Angiogenesis Assays

matrigel/FGF mouse angiogenesis assay - testing putative angiogenesis INHIBITORS - catalog #10300 (C57BL mice), #10301 (nude mice)

Angiogenesis is induced in FGF treated matrigel plugs implanted subcutaneously in C57BL or nude mice
Compounds are either incorporated into matrigel plugs at the time of implantation or injected for systemic delivery
30 mice/study (10 mice/dose of compound, 10 mice vehicle, 10 mice FGF positive control)
Matrigel plugs are excised after 1 week and processed for histology (trichrome stain)
Morphologic documentation (photographs) and quantitation of vascular changes are generated (by computer image analysis)
Client is provided with a detailed report including original data and basic statistics

Matrigel plugs are implanted subcutaneously in mice
Putative activators are either incorporated into the matrigel plugs at the time of implantation or injected (sc, iv, im) for systemic delivery
A typical 1 dose experiment includes 40 mice: 10 mice one dose of compound, 10 mice vehicle, 10 mice matrigel only (uninduced), 10 mice bFGF (induced control)
Additional doses and other compounds having known angiogenic activity may also be included for additional cost
