Paragon Bioservices Wins Pfizer Outsourcing Award

BALTIMORE, MD. February 15, 2010 — Paragon Bioservices, Inc., a contract research and manufacturing organization (CRO/CMO), is proud to congratulate Michele Dumás for receiving the “Pfizer External Research Award”, for her part in facilitating the company’s outsourcing needs.

Also known as the Research Outsourcing Center of Excellence “Difference Maker Award”, it is generally an award to recognize scientists at each Pfizer site whose attitude, persistence, and willingness to work with external resources has enhanced the division’s overall value and ability to complete key projects.

Pfizer, Inc. is the world’s largest research-based pharmaceutical company.

Ms Dumás was nominated by Dr George Karam, External Research Lead and Senior Principal Scientist at Pfizer—who is responsible for the Biology Outsourcing portfolio (Gene-To-Protein processes) at Pfizer’s Groton/New London Ct facilities. In receiving this award, she was selected over 75 other vendor portfolio managers.

Paragon Bioservices is the largest vendor working for Dr Karam at Pfizer; and Michele, a Corporate Account Manager who has worked for Paragon for more than 12 years, has coordinated the scientific, business and IT aspects of hundreds of research projects for many of the top pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
